Today is the LAST DAY to finish this in class. If it's not done in class today, it is HOMEWORK.
Research Phase 1 Now, it’s time to start your initial research. By the end of class, you should have found the following things. Stuck? Try this in google: effects of ________ on the brain. Make sure you are keeping a running list of the urls you reference in your research notes!
SHOW LORI! Research Phase 2:
SHOW LORI! Done with research early? Start working on the following…
HOMEWORK: NONE. All this can be done in class (Ahem, if you use your class time wisely. No promises if you spend your time making up raps for the Fresh Prince of Denmark). Research Parts 1 and 2 are due at the start of class, Thursday, 10/12.

HOMEWORK: None! We will do all research in class. Research Phase 1 and 2 are due at the start of class Thursday, 10/12. Task 1: Brainstorm- What do you already know? What questions do you have? (5 minutes)
In pairs, brainstorm two lists. The topic is drugs and your brain (thinking about physical effects and neurotransmission).
Task 2: Introductory Videos and Notes (20 minutes) Now, watch these introductory videos from the HBO Addiction documentary. Add to your notes at least three things that you learned from each video. Task 3: Exploration Now that you have a sense of what we'll be looking for, take a moment to explore, and think about what drug you might want to choose to focus on. Here are some resources for you:
Task 4: FINAL NOTES Look at the list of potential drugs to focus on below. As of right now, after your exploration, which one do you think you are most interested in? Why? Potential Drugs
HOMEWORK: None, unless you didn't finish tasks 1-4. If you didn't, finish them by Thursday. Hey guys, I got hit with a stomach virus last night, and am in no shape to go to school today. See your instructions below. Please do what they tell you!
Opener: Share with your group what the most interesting thing that you’ve learned so far about your hormone. Move! Sit with a group of your hormone only! This will make it easier to coordinate the next piece of our little project. Oxytocin and Testosterone
